ART IN ACTION WEEKEND
11-13th September 2004
WHAT A SUCCESS

I would like to thank everyone who was involved with the successful delivery of the Art In Action Weekend which was opened by The Mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor Alan Hart The exhibition of paintings far exceeded all expectations and demonstrated the quality and enrichment for all to see.

The 7 visiting artists fired the imagination of their audience and were very helpful in the question forum at the close of each session whilst the adult workshops provided an added facility for new amateur artists to have a go and experience the joys of painting. Also, the children’s workshops were very well supported and gave the children an added insight in to self-expressionism through colour.

The comments book endorsed the success of the full weekend with “ a lively programme of events, some exceedingly good exhibits, thoroughly enjoyed looking at your exhibition, well worth visiting, very interesting exhibition.”

However, the success could not have been achieved without the full backing of St.Bartholomew’s Church, the company sponsors, and of course, helpers and the artists, themselves.

A very high standard of artistic achievement was attained and will form the basis for future growth and creative development within Penn.
